Over the course of the third term, our students have collaborated with teaching artists from BAM to produce an interpretation of the Bard’s famous classic, Romeo and Juliet, through the Shakespeare Teaches Students program.

In this series of classroom workshops dedicated to in-depth scene and character study, students rehearse and perform their own Shakespeare scenes. By assuming the roles of actor, director, and designer, students engage with the Bard’s language in a new, exciting way, making connections between their own lives and the play’s characters, events, and literary techniques. This program culminates in a student share.

Thanks to our teachers and teaching artists, their hard work culminated in a live performance in front of a large audience at one of BAM’s great theaters. Well done!
